St. Andrew will host 2015 British Open
It was confirmed on Tuesday that the 2015 British Open will take place at St. Andrew’s. It last held the tournament in 2010 and is known as “The Home of Golf”. South African Louis Oosthuizen claimed his first major triumph there with a 7 shot victory.
Peter Dawson who is the chief executive of Royal and Ancient announced that the 2015 British Open would be returning to St. Andrews. He also said that St. Andrews has frequently proven their capability in hosting the event and he affirmed his certainty that another “worthy” winner would emerge. Dawson also said that players, officials and spectators were welcome to return as well.
Tiger Woods winner of 14 majors lifted the Claret Jug trophy at St. Andrews winning both in 2000 and 2005. 13 majors winner Bobby Jones, won in 1927 and recently in 1984 Steve Ballesteros won it.
